I was in Las Vegas last November, and almost went to the B.B. King concert. He was playing 2 nights at the Sahara. I wound up going to another show those 2 nights, but was wondering if anyone managed to catch this show.

If so, how was it?

There is no doubt in my mind that BB probably put on a spectacular show that night in Vegas. I've seen him countless times and wouldn't dream of missing him if I have the opportunity to go at all. His shows tend to be quite the same for the most part, but his stage presence and control over the crowd are truly mesmerizing. I saw him last summer with Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi and Tommy Castro in the outdoor setting. He is coming to the Spirit Mountain casino in Grand Rhonde, Oregon in March; about an hour + drive, but most certainly worth it if I can get the time off work.

Plain and simple: BB King is an artist worth seeing every time out. He's not getting any younger and has taken to sitting just about his entire show, but the power is still there. It's like Elvin Bishop says: "There may be snow up on the mountain, but there's fire down below!!"

Thanks Slim for the opinion... when I was in Vegas last November it was for a conference, and the 2 nights that BB was playing I wound up being at events sponsored by corporate people (with entertainment like Brian Setzer and Dana Carvey being offered) so I didn't go to BB... (was US$50 for BB).

I just learned this evening (thanks LowEnd!) that the B.B. King show next week, February 1st, in Montreal was moved to a larger venue with more tickets being made available. So maybe I will get local tix. (See my topic in the BuySellTrade forum)...

Like I mentioned before, I never have had the chance to see BB live, although my mother did back in the early 80s.

I consider him a living legend, and think it would be quite the experience to see him like you say...
